Discipline

Discipline is any training intended to produce a specific character or pattern of behaviour, especially training that produces moral or mental development in a particular direction.
Discipline can also refer to the following:
Discipline may be a euphemism for punishment, in particular corporal punishment.
A discipline is a branch of a profession or an academic field of knowledge.
A discipline can be a catgory in which a certain sport belongs, or a sub-category of said sport.
A line discipline imposes a specific character or pattern of behaviour on a computer serial link.
